Living Carbon grants – applications now open for landholders in the MidCoast region

If you are a landholder in the MidCoast local government area, you may be eligible for a NSW Government grant of up to $200,000 to set up a carbon planting project. This could help you secure the health of your land, improve productivity, and generate new income, while restoring habitat for koalas and other threatened species.

MidCoast Council is working with land managers to support the planning and design of on-farm carbon projects and can support in developing a grant application.

To be eligible, successful applicants must:

  • live in the MidCoast local government area
  • have a planting area of 10 to 200 hectares
  • plant with the aim of improving koala habitat.

Applications close 30 September 2025. A MidCoast Council support partner is available to provide on-farm help for landholders to design and plan their projects before applying.

Living Carbon grants are proudly funded by the NSW Government under the Net Zero Plan Stage 1: 2020–2030 and the NSW Koala Strategy.
